CHWS LTD grants no other warranty or guarantee over its water heaters and associated products nor the “assemblies or parts of” supplied for replacement, other than the warranty expressly set out in these Terms and Conditions.
General Warranty: Cylinders
CHWS Ltd will within the warranty period, from the date of purchase, supply a new replacement unit of the equivalent size and quality if it is proved to be leaking or corroding due to faulty manufacture or material defects. Claims must be validated by CHWS Ltd who will also have sole discretion on the validity of any claim.
The obligations of CHWS LTD by virtue of the warranty provided do not extend beyond delivery free of charge from the warehouse of the parts or components or water heater to be replaced. Transport, positioning, labour, installation, and any other costs associated with the replacement will not be accepted by CHWS LTD.
The warranty period given on the replacement water heater shall be equal to the remaining warranty period of the original water heater that was supplied.
Notwithstanding that stated in these terms and conditions, if unfiltered or soft water outside the acceptable LSI parameters of the potable water used, or potable water is allowed to stand in the water heater, the warranty shall be void.
CHWS ProStor® Cylinder & ProRapid® Warranty:
The warranty on the CHWS ProStor® and ProRapid® range of products applies only to cylinders/vessels supplied for use with sanitary/drinking water.
The products covered are the CHWS ProStor® BV, SC, XS and XM/F models. This warranty also covers non- standard models VS, VSDN, XVS and XVSDN.
CHWS Ltd will provide a 5 Year warranty period on CHWS ProStor® SC, BV, VS, VSDN models and a 25-year warranty period on CHWS ProStor® XS, XM/F, XVS & XVSDN & ProRapid® models.
The warranty for the ProRapid® models covers the cylinder and pipework assembly only. The pump and plate heat exchanger are covered by a 1-year manufacturers warranty.
The warranty will only apply subject to observance of the following conditions:
- The cylinder must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions.
- The cylinder must be installed in accordance with National and Local Building Regulations and
observing all relevant installation regulations at the time of installation.
- The cylinder is only used for the purpose it was designed for, that being the heating and storing of
sanitary/drinking water.
- The cylinder must be installed in a position that allows full unhindered access to all anodes,
connections, drain offs, valves and clean out ports.
- The design water temperatures or pressure values displayed on the cylinder data plate must not be
exceeded during use at any time.
- The cylinder is installed in a suitable area that is not in a damp or corrosive environment.
- In hard water areas, suitable water conditioning or softening equipment must be installed to
condition the sanitary water prior to heating.
- The acceptable level of water quality is between 0 and +0.4 on the Langelier’s Saturation Index (LSI)
of water measured at the cylinder’s working temperature.
- The conductivity of the water must not be less than 125 μS/cm and/or the hardness (alkaline earth
ions) of the water being less than 1.00 mmol/litre. In all cases water quality should be within the
parameters of 0.0 and +0.4 on the Langelier’s Saturation Index (LSI)
- Enamel lined Cylinders/Vessels being used to heat and/or store heated potable/drinking water
should always be fitted with cathodic protection. If sacrificial anodes are used for this, these must be replaced and renewed when, and as soon as the anode is reduced to 40% of its when new volume. When power anodes are used, these must be regularly checked and documented to ensure that they continue to work properly.
- The cylinder must be maintained in accordance with the manufacturers servicing schedule which will includes maintaining any sacrificial or powered anodes installed into the cylinders in a serviceable condition.
- Damage to the cylinder by an external factor, misuse, neglect (this includes frost damage), unauthorised modifications or attempts to repair any leak or defect (other than by an authorised and approved service engineer) will invalidate any claim.
- The water heater remains installed at the original site of installation.
- ALL claims must be authorised by CHWS Ltd before any work or replacement of defective
components takes place.
CHWS ProPak® Packaged Plate Heat Exchanger Warranty:
The warranty on the CHWS ProPak® range of products applies only to PPHE units supplied for use with sanitary/drinking water unless specified otherwise.
The products covered are the standard CHWS ProPak® 3 series, 4 series and 5 series models including bespoke design units purchased from CHWS.
CHWS Ltd will provide a 2 Year warranty period from date of purchase.
The warranty will only apply subject to observance of the following conditions:
- The CHWS ProPak® must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions.
- The CHWS ProPak® must be installed in accordance with National and Local Building Regulations and observing all relevant installation regulations at the time of installation.
- The CHWS ProPak® is only used for the purpose it was designed for, that being the heating and storing of sanitary/drinking water or special for other purposes if designed and supplied by CHWS for those purposes.
- The CHWS ProPak® must be installed in a position that allows full unhindered access to all, control panels, connections, drain offs, valves, clean out ports and plate heat exchangers.
- Physical controls must be included in the installation to prevent fouling of the plate heat exchanger on both the primary and secondary side i.e., scale and sludge or debris.
- Suitable isolation valves must be included in the installation to allow isolation and draining for inspection by CHWS LTD at any time.
- The design water temperatures or pressure values displayed on the ProPak® data plate must not be exceeded during use at any time.
- The CHWS ProPak® must be installed in a position that allows full unhindered access to all connections, drain offs, valves and clean out ports,
- The CHWS ProPak® is installed in a suitable area that is not in a damp or corrosive environment.
- Suitable water conditioning should be used on a cold-water supply if it is outside of the accepted
water quality parameters.
- The acceptable level of water quality is between 0 and +0.4 on the Langelier’s Index of water
measured at the ProPak’s working temperature.
- The CHWS ProPak® should be periodically maintained in accordance with the manufacturers
servicing schedule.
- Damage to the CHWS ProPak® by an external factor, misuse, neglect (this includes frost damage),
unauthorised modifications or attempts to repair any leak or defect (other than by an authorised and approved service engineer) will invalidate any claim.
• ALL claims must be authorised by CHWS Ltd before any work or replacement of defective components takes place.
Heating & Chilled Water Cylinder Warranty:
The warranty on the Heating & Chilled range of products applies only to cylinders/vessels supplied for use with heating/chilled water.
The products covered are the Heating Buffer PS, PSF, PS2F, PS3F PSR & PSRR and Chilled Buffer PSS models. CHWS Ltd will provide a 2 Year warranty period on Buffer models.
The warranty will only apply subject to observance of the following conditions:
- The cylinder must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions.
- The cylinder must be installed in accordance with National and Local Building Regulations and
observing all relevant installation regulations at the time of installation.
- The cylinder is only used for the purpose it was designed for, that being the heating and storing of
heating/chilled water.
- The cylinder MUST NOT be allowed to have standing water particularly subject to oxygen ingress,
doing so will void all warranties expressed in these articles.
- The design water temperatures or pressure values displayed on the cylinder data plate are not
exceeded during use at any time.
- The cylinder must be installed in a position that allows full unhindered access to all connections,
drain offs, valves and clean out ports.
- The cylinder is installed in a suitable area that is not in a damp or corrosive environment.
- The Heating or Cooling system water is treated with a suitable inhibitor which maintains a neutral
pH level or the correct PH level for the mixed metals in the system.
- The heating or cooling system in which the cylinder is installed must not be subject to topping up of
system water by more than 5% of the system volume over any 12-month period.
- The cylinder should be maintained in accordance with the manufacturers servicing schedule which will include keeping any sacrificial anodes installed into the cylinders serviceable.
- Damage to the cylinder by an external factor, misuse, neglect (this includes frost damage), unauthorised modifications or attempts to repair any leak or defect (other than by an authorised and approved service engineer) will invalidate any claim.
- ALL claims must be authorised by CHWS Ltd before any work or replacement of defective components takes place.
Ancillary & Component Warranty:
Components supplied by CHWS Ltd will carry their manufacturer’s warranty of 1 year. CHWS Ltd will repair or replace any of these components that have failed due to manufacturing or material defects within that 1-year period. The validity of any claim for faulty components will be decided by the manufacturer of that component.
Limitations of Warranty:
The obligations of CHWS LTD by virtue of the warranty provided do not extend beyond delivery free of charge from the warehouse of the parts or components or water heater to be replaced; transport, labour, installation, and other costs associated with the replacement shall not be borne by CHWS LTD.
Under the terms of the supplied warranty, CHWS LTD is not liable for damage to persons or property caused by any supplied product including replacements.
CHWS LTD grants no other warranty or guarantee over its water heaters nor the (assemblies or parts of) water heaters supplied for replacement, other than the warranty expressly set out in these terms and conditions.
CHWS Ltd will supply free of cost replacement items including delivery to the original delivery address. CHWS Ltd will not accept any charges for the cost of labour, installation, or any other associated costs with the installation of the replacement items.
